Join us for a rare evening of ancestral music, sacred hapé, and cultural exchange with Gran Maestro Txana Ikakuru, spiritual leader and pajé of the Huni Kuin people, and his 17-year-old daughter Nixiani Huni Kuin.
Coming from Boa Vista village in the remote Jordão region of Acre,Amazonas Brazil, Txana Ikakuru carries the powerful lineage of the sacred chants of Nixi Pae and the healing knowledge of his ancestors. He is the grandson of two great guardians of Huni Kuin wisdom: Romão Sales, protector of the sacred chants, and Mukaya, a legendary shaman who lived to the age of 105. Today, Txana is recognized as one of the principal carriers of his people’s spiritual tradition, sharing profound teachings of the forest through song, prayer, and medicine.
His daughter Nixiani, raised deeply in these traditions, has already begun walking her own path as a musician and cultural ambassador. With the guidance of her father and mother Bunkê, she brings the force of the feminine from the jungle, weaving music and presence into a unique expression of healing. For the past three years, she has traveled internationally, carrying her ancestral voice to communities around the world.
